I attended an event in Sipson today at the Airplot.  The Airplot is a small parcel of land immediately behind the King William IV Pub that was purchased by Greenpeace and then immediately distributed to thousands of other owners who bought a small piece of the parcel.  There are roughly 4000 owners of the land at this point and it continues to grow.

The scheme is designed to slow governmental efforts to acquire land in the region for the development of the third runway.

The event today had scores from the village and surrounding area in attendance.  I had a chance to meet with many locals and several associated with a group called NoTRAG.  No Third Runway Action Group has been trying to prevent the demolition of Sipson for several years now.  It is a wholly grassroots organization formed by many inhabitants of Sipson and the surrounding villages or Harmondsworth and Harlington.

I hope to meet with them more in the coming weeks as I try to move from seeing the land that would be changed to the lives that would be changed.
