Mamma’s taking the Kodachrome…damn.

So the last roll of Kodachrome made, has now been shot.  Steve McCurry took the last roll on an around the world journey that ended in Parsons, Kansas, site of the last lab in the world that develops Kodachrome film.  According to Dwayne’s Photo, the now infamous last lab in the world to perform K-6 processing, they will develop Kodachrome until about December 10 when they will stop developing the film completely.

It’s a shame but inevitable.  Although I have yet to see a digital manipulation that looks like Kodachrome and feels like Kodachrome I have to wonder how long will film actually be around.

I have one more roll left.  Have to think of a way to perform a decent sendoff for the roll.

What am I going to do with you?
